Early Intervention Orthodontics for Children

Early intervention orthodontics focuses on correcting dental and skeletal and airway issues in children before they become more severe. It aims to address the root causes of improper jaw growth, misaligned teeth, and poor oral habits, hence reducing the need for more complicated treatments later on in life. Phase 1 orthodontics is performed when your child is growing, as early as age of 7, with mixed dentition. Phase 2 orthodontics that may be necessary when your child has their full set of adult teeth.
  • Rooted in years of research and clinically-proven, the Invisalign® Palatal Expander System by Align Technology, USA, delivers a revolutionary approach to skeletal expansion.
  • The Invisalign Palatal® Expander (IPE) System is Align’s first direct 3D printed orthodontic device to address skeletal expansion in growing patients.
  • It consists of a series of doctor-prescribed, removable Invisalign® Palatal Expanders and Invisalign® Palatal Holders.
  • Invisalign First is a clear aligner system by Align Technology, USA, specifically designed for children between the ages of 6-12 years old with developing teeth and jaws. It aims to treat a variety of orthodontic concerns such as crowding, spacing, and alignment. We first do a 3D scan for the child and these aligners are custom-made to fit the child's teeth and gradually move them into the desired position.
  • Invisalign First is comfortable, removable, and nearly invisible, making it an appealing option for children who may be self-conscious about wearing traditional braces.
  • The aligners need to be worn for 20-22 hours a day and are replaced every one to two weeks as the teeth shift.
  • LM-Activator™ is a prefabricated appliance for supporting healthy growth and development of the face and jaw. The ideal time for treatment with LM-Activator™ is in early mixed dentition when the first teeth are changing. By intervening early, the need for further treatment can be significantly reduced and even eliminated. Research indicates that malocclusions in deciduous dentition persist and tend to become more severe as the dentition develops. LM-Activator™ is developed and made in Finland.
